    Windows 10 Pro or Home
    was already pre-installed on your machine. Windows will automatically identify and activate the hardware-embedded digital license on your system.
    If your PC came with
    Windows 7 Pro or Home
    you will need to enter your 25-digit license key, which may be located on the Windows COA label. (This is typically printed in the following format: XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX and can be found on the case for desktop computers as well as the base or behind the battery for laptops.)
    This is excellent for building new computers or upgrading a failing drive in an existing one.
    The brand and model may change based on available supply, but they will come from a reputable source (Seagate, Samsung, Western Digital, Hitachi, HGST, Toshiba, etc).

    In newer models released after 2014, you might need to access the BIOS and switch Secure Boot to Legacy/CSM Boot. It only takes a few minutes and is really easy. (There are a ton of videos on YouTube that will demonstrate how to accomplish it. Simply type "allow legacy boot" into a search engine to find it.
