    Description

    We zapped it with a laser spectrometer and the readout said 4140.
    Marked at the end as HT. (No certification accompanies). Heat treating scale on the sides however.
    I will tell you when I tapped it with the tang of my tape measure it had a steady high ring indicating pretty hard. (I've been doing this for 40 yrs- it's hard)
