This is a plug and play hard drive with El Capitan already installed on it. You just install it in your iMac or Mac Pro and boot it up.
Please, in your buyers note put the year and make of your Mac. Example: MacBook Pro 2010 (mid).

Works with iMac's 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, and 2011 This includes 21.5", 24" and 27".
This also works with a Mac Pro 2008 early (or later).

In great working condition. I test every hard drive I sell to make sure it boots up and is fully functional. This hard drive comes preloaded with the Mac OS El Capitan (10.11.6) installed on it. It's set up so that you can install it in your iMac 2007 to 2011 and boot up your iMac or Mac Pro. It will NOT work with 2012 iMac and later.
It's a 3.5" SATA II drive. It's a mechanical hard drive. This will NOT fit a 2.5" Macbook. Again, it's for iMac 2007 to 2011.
There are 4 pins for the temperature sensor. All you do is plugin your old temperature sensor to this hard drive and your iMac will work.
No mounting screws or screws are included. Do make sure that your system has at least 1 GB of RAM. I would highly recommend at least 4 GB of RAM, though.  But, I really prefer to have at least 8 GB of RAM.
This hard drive does NOT come with an installation disk. The operating system El Capitan is already installed on the hard drive.
