    Description

    Up for auction is a Belleek Bird's Nest Basket.  This is
    four-strand circular woven basket, the rim applied with a continuous band of various flowerheads and turnover leaves.  There are 16 hand-formed and -painted blossoms: 4 pink peonies with yellow centers, 3 yellow daisies with a green eye, 3 of the beloved Irish shamrocks, 2 pink roses, 2 yellow roses and 2 clusters of 3 forget-me-nots, each with an orange eye.  The basket measures 4" in diameter and has an impressed banner on the bottom with "Belleek R", dating the piece 1980-89.
    Condition:  I have examined this Belleek Bird's Nest woven basket with a magnifying glass and can see no damage.  The shamrocks, blossoms and leaves are pristine.  The colors are vibrant and unfaded.  All flowers are highlighted in my photos.
