Cigar box guitar fret boards are designed specifically for use on cigar box guitars with necks 1 1/2" wide. The fret board is 18” - 20" long, 1/4"- 5/16”thick and has 20 frets, spaced for a 23", 24" or 25.5" scale length. We offer these in 8 beautiful wood types and
either slotted only or fully fretted. They are ready to be put on your next Cigar Box Guitar.
    Slotted:
fret board, with fret slots pre-cut to 23", 24" or 25.5" scale without frets
    Fully Fretted:
Fretted with medium nickel-silver fret wire to 23", 24" or 25.5" scale; frets are installed, with finished and smoothed ends - ready to glue onto your neck.
Fret Boards are handcrafted in the Catoctin Mountains in our workshop located in Emmitsburg, MD. Please note that each piece will be different in appearance from the ones in the photo. Keep in mind that these are unfinished fret boards, so once you apply your favorite finish, the color will darken and become more lustrous.
Slotted with the most accurate templates and highest quality fret slotting blade available to ensure these boards will play in tune with accurate intonation. Slots are .023” to accept standard guitar fret wire. We final sand with a fine grit sandpaper to achieve a smooth board and to highlight the natural beauty of the wood in every piece. Wood has its own unique grain pattern. No two boards are identical!
Just trim the fret board to the desired length (if needed), glue it to your neck and add your desired fret wire. Once your favorite finish is applied, you'll be ready to go. Please note: The photo above is a stock photo. Actual fret boards may vary somewhat in color and markings but are all made from first quality wood and are always built to our strict professional standards and specifications.
We try our best to make each one to exacting specifications. Like any handmade product, there may be imperfections, flaws or blemishes. Keep in mind that each piece will be different in appearance from the ones in the photo.
