cigar box guitar fretboard Exotic  Pre -slotted fretboards - genuine Honduran mahogany. These are extra nice A grade real mahogany boards . Alot of wood species are called mahogany but aren't actually true members of the species just similar looking species that get passed of as "mahogany "   the boards listed here are  what is know as " genuine " or real mahogany.
real mahogany has been one of the most popular and commonly used wood species for building stringed instruments for over 200 yrs .
it's a very good tonewood that offers a warm , rich balanced sound . THE exceptional midrange is were it really shines  as a tonewood, the highs aren't   ovely crisp or harsh and the bottom end isn't too low .
Mahogany typically has a very uniform grain pattern meaning it doesn't have the wild figuring of some other
Exotic hardwoods but genuine mahogany as always been considered a luxurious wood with a refined understated elegance. it has a beautiful natural luster when polished.
These are already pre slotted for you accurately!  21  fret positions  24 " scale lenght. Slotted with the most accurate templates and highest quality Fret slotting blade available to ensure if you use these boards your instrument will play in tune with accurate intonation. Slots are .023 to accept standard guitar fretwire tangs.These boards are approximately 1-1/2" wide ×3/8" thick .. and should fit most cigarbox guitar necks or just buy a board 1-1/2" wide which should be readily available almost anywhere. ,These  boards  have been      surfaced to 320 grit which is better than typical factory built instruments which are typically only surfaced to
220 .if you wish too you could give it a light final sanding with a extra fine grit 400 or up to achieve butter smooth action and to make the natural luster in the wood pop and  highlight the natural beauty of the wood further but it isn't necessary.   This is a Great deal on some quality boards that can take your next build to another level .much better looking and sounding than cheap oak or poplar fretboards most builders use and aren't really suitable for instrument building. . Be aware every piece of wood has it's own unique figuring and grain pattern. No 2 pieces are identical . The board pictured is typical of the wood species listed but may not be the exact board you will recieve . This  is very good quality tonewood .

mahogany boards can be finished so if you want you can give them a coat of lacquer, shellac, poly or a oil finish.. tung ,linseed ,Danish oil , true oil all work fine and look great .
as any professional instrument builder will tell you if you want to build a quality instrument that looks good plays well and sounds great you have to begin with quality tonewood.
