Description

A very fine and scarce example of a 2 piece Civil War period Saint Timothy's Hall of Cantonsville, Maryland Cadet button.    Albert# SU-378.    President Lincoln's assassin John Wilks Booth and several other accused conspirators attended classes at St. Timothy's hall.   The school was described during the period as a thoroughly Southern school with Confederate sympathies.  Backmark reads

"  WATERBURY  BUTTON  CO.  * *  ".   Button retains much of its original gilded finish.   Button measures 19.96mm.
