Description

A fine and scarce example of a 3 piece United States Diplomatic Corps or Government Official's button of the Civil War period.   Albert# OD-23.    This example has a backmark that reads  " G.  &  CIE.. (crest)  PARIS  20  ".     Button measures 20.91mm.    A bold separately applied well articulated eagle with pronounced central shield.    Button retains nearly all of its original gilded finish.
