Collection/Lot of Original Civil War Brass Eagle Buttons 13 Different MUST SEE
Years ago I thought I would collect Civil War Eagle Buttons by back mark and size. Other collections took precedence and used up my available funds so this collection came to a halt. I now offer this to someone who might use it to build upon their own collection or this would make a good start for a new collection.
There are 13 buttons total, 12 are non-dug. Only 1 is dug. Eleven buttons are from the Civil War period with two being from the Indian War period. The buttons are mounted on two 3" by 5" cards. I wrote the back marks of each button on the front when I first placed them on the cards. All buttons have complete shanks although a few are bent a little. Two buttons do show some damage. The small "HORSTMANN-NEW YORK" has a dent on the front side and the "SCOVILL & Co-EXTRA" has a small piece out of the neck area (probably due to thin brass in that area).
