    Description

    Massachusetts pre Civil War state seal volunteer militia coat button. It is a low convex, gilted brass, 2-piece button. The front has a centered arm holding a sword with MASS VOLUNTEER MILITIA and a ring of 5-point stars surrounding it. The reverse has a c.1835-55 small depressed R & W ROBINSON * EXTRA RICH * backmark. The shank is straight. It measures 23 mm in diameter. The pictures are accurate. Please look at my other auctions.
