    Description

No 2 Kodak Camera 1889-1897  excellent appearance
You are bidding on a No 2 Kodak Camera 1889-1897
Made by Eastman Kodak from 1889-97.  This was the model after the original Kodak and the No. 1 Kodak.  It was factory loaded for  60 round images 3-1/2 Inches in diameter.
Body number 17242 is embossed in the leather at the rear of the camera. According to Brian Coe, there were about 19,000 of these made.
The lens is a fixed focus periscopic, the aperture is adjusted by removing front panel, it has a string-set shutter.  This model has a rotating exposure indicator. It has a circular reflecting finder.
The camera looks excellent.  It was restored circa 1980 with the original style pinseal leather.
    The flaws are:
The string to cock the shutter is broken.  Included is a brass pull that is detached from the string.
The mirror in the finder is losing some of the silvering.
The shutter mechanism is all there, but is rather stiff.
