    An excellent example of a 2 piece post Civil War
    cuff
    button of the
    United States Life Saving Service
    .  Albert# FD-18-TY-Av.    Backmark reads  "  *  SCOVILL  *  MF'G  CO.  ".   The U.S.L.S.S. was formed in 1848 and lasted to 1915 when it was merged with the Revenue Cutter Service to establish the newly formed Coast Guard. This button dates around 1880 to 1910.  Nearly all gilded finish remaining.  Cuff button measures 14.50mm.  See photos for condition details.
