    Description

    A very fine and scarce example of a 2 piece pre Civil War Henry Clay Presidential campaign button of 1844.  Clay ran unsuccessfully against Martin Van Buren.  Albert# PC-206-A.   Backmark reads "  SCOVILLS & CO  - SUPERFINE -  ".   Button retains most of its original gilded finish.   Button measures 23.10mm.
