Description

What you see is what you get from pile. My silver nitrate is a pure snow white color. It will never arrive with tints or shades of brown, green, blue or any other strange shade due to impurities such as copper/silver oxides and nitrogen gases trapped in solution.
Warning:
As with all house hold and industrial chemicals silver nitrate must be treated with the up most care when handling. Product is NOT to be used for human or animal consumption nor mixed with other house hold or industrial chemical products. Gloves, goggles, protective face mask and appropriate clothing must be worn at all times when handling this product. Failure to follow the above guide lines when handling this product can lead to serious bodily injury or permanent blindness. Seller & ebay will NOT be held accountable for an injury that results in the use of this product. As with all house hold and industrial products silver nitrate is safe to use if appropriate and protective precautions are taken when handling. Product is NEVER to be used by children under the age of 18.
Material:
5.1 grams of AgNO3
999+ purity
-All water used in reactions is distilled to keep out alkaline metal ions such as Na, K and others.
-All silver used in reaction is 99.99% pure to insure no cross contamination from metals such as copper and tin.
Manufacturing Process:
I made the crystals. I started out towards a Chem E degree but switched to Mechanical Engineering. I know what I am doing. I am not just dumping nitric acid over silver and letting the reaction run to completion. Stoichiometric equations along with densities, temperatures, percentage purites & molar masses are taken into account to insure balance and efficiency. Silver used in reaction is 99.99% pure. To insure that no nitric acid is left over from the reaction I always balance my equations to leave a few grams of solid silver. This insures that all nitric acid has been converted to silver nitrate and the reaction is complete. Solid silver is then removed and remaining silver nitrate solution is filtered off. Silver nitrate solution is then left to dry in a dark room to remove all water. Special care is taken to insure that silver oxides do not form.
