Description
The good ol’ days of computers were great, but memory back then was very expensive and used a lot of power. An 8K SWTPC MP-8M board had 8K of memory and used 1.5 amps! Our board definitely does not use vintage parts, but provides a lot of memory much more economically and with less power draw. This board is meant for 6800 based systems using the SS-50 bus. While it can work in 6809 systems, there are only 16 address lines used by this board so it will always be selected regardless of which bank is used.
Features
64K of RAM.
Can also be used to extend the tiny 128 bytes of RAM at $A000 as used on many vintage CPU boards. Instead of 128 bytes, put in 8k!
Each 4K block can be individually enabled or disabled. No problem working around existing devices in your memory map. It also allows you to fill in holes in your memory map, such as 00 to $DFFF.
Power draw of about 100 ma. The regulator runs very cool.
