    Description

WW2 Home Guard County of Lincolnshire Printed uncut Pair of Formation Patches
    Excellent condition and scarce.
A scarce original Second World War period uncut pair of 'Lincolnshire Home Guard' in the form of a matching pair of blue printed imps on khaki green background.
The design of the Lincoln imp badge was based on the grotesque sculpture inside Lincoln cathedral near the nave, which commemorates the legend that construction of the cathedral in the thirteenth century was hindered by a malicious imp, only stopped when hit on the leg by a stone thrown by an angel. The wounded imp is depicted holding his damaged leg whilst hopping on the sound one.
    Guaranteed genuine.
